Cops & Doughnuts Owner Attends State of the Union Address With Congressman John Moolenaar

“I’m honored to have been invited here, we’re a small business in central Michigan, in Clare. The American dream is alive.”

The owner of Cops & Doughnuts in Clare was invited by Congressman John Moolenaar to attend Tuesday night’s address.

Greg Rynearson is calling it the ‘experience of a lifetime.’

Moolenaar says the shop is an example of a thriving small business and he wanted to honor their efforts in helping revive downtown Clare over the past decade.

When it comes to small business and the economy, Congressman Moolenaar tells us the president’s speech seemed optimistic and forward-looking.

“He offered a hand, an open hand to work together and challenged all of us to work for the people. We work in the peoples’ house and all of us serve our constituents, the American people and I believe that bipartisan tone will go a long ways to get us working together in congress,” Moolenaar said.

Congressman Moolenar says he will be working on improving our infrastructure, fighting the opioid crisis and supporting our rural communities.
