WalletHub Releases List of Best, Worst States to Drive

Nobody likes being stuck in traffic, but it also comes at a cost.

According to WalletHub, congestion costs the average driver $1,400 a year and some states are worse than others.

But congestion isn’t the only concern on the road.

People also want to know that they will be driving on safe, well-maintained roads.

Taking these concerns into account, let’s take a look at where some of the states fell in .

Texas came in at number one, followed by Kansas, and then Nebraska coming in at number three.

The worst state to drive in, falling into 50th place, was Hawaii.

If you were wondering where Michigan ranked, we came in pretty low at 40th place.

However, Michigan did rank relatively high for safety, coming in at seventh place, as well as access to vehicles and maintenance at 10th place.
