RV Show Helps Raise Money for Homeless in Otsego County

This weekend in Gaylord, The Ellison Place is the place to be if you’re in the market for a new RV.

Saturday was the third day of the Northern Michigan Camping and RV Show, featuring hundreds of recreational vehicles of all kinds, all makes and all models.

But it’s not your typical RV expo.

Admission to the show costs a cash donation, or a donation of three non-perishable food items.

All proceeds go to The Refuge, a shelter for the homeless in Otsego County.

For those wanting a new camper, it’s a great opportunity to also give back.

Todd Lemieur and his family came from Alanson looking for a new RV.

“We brought some canned goods and donated some money as well, just trying to help out the community and they’re helping us by doing a little shopping today, it’s a little chilly out,” Todd, said.

If you missed it today, the show continues on Sunday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
