Osceola Co. Couple Killed In Crash, Three Cars Involved

“This tragedy has taken everyone by surprise.”

A couple died after troopers say they drove into the path of an oncoming car.

Their family says they were on their way home from church.

State Police say three cars all were involved and it also sent two other people to the hospital.

The deadly crash happened at the intersection of 11 Mile Rd. and Mackinaw Trail in Osceola County just west of Ashton in Lincoln Township.

Troopers say the woman and her passenger were traveling towards Ashton and stopped at the sign.

When they started moving again, troopers say they were hit by a northbound car.

Then, both vehicles careened into a third car.

A family member, who wished to remain anonymous, says the impact is being felt by everyone.

“This is a terrible tragedy for both families. Both lives were taken at the same time. This is a tragedy and involves a lot of people and I just can’t say enough that we all need to be really careful when we are driving.”

The two other drivers involved were released from the hospital and the crash is still being looked into.
