UPDATE: Congress Decides on Holiday Break
Congress decided to pass a temporary spending bill that would allow them to take a holiday break until the new year.
The temporary spending bill allows them to avoid a government shutdown and put off disputed issues like immigration, health care and the federal budget until year turns 2018.
President Donald Trump is expected to sign the temporary spending bill on Friday before leaving to spend Christmas in Florida at his estate.
Democrats were denied a vote on offering an opportunity for citizenship to immigrants brought to the U.S. as children illegally.
Another item left unfinished is a bipartisan effort to destroy budget limits imposing a frees on the Pentagon and domestic agencies.
