UPDATE: New York Subway Station Back Open After Explosion

A walkway inside the city’s busiest subway station is back open today, just 24 hours after an alleged suicide bomber detonated a pipe bomb there.

Surveillance video shows the moment the explosion happened during morning rush hour.

Police say Akayed Ullah, an immigrant from Bangladesh, had an improvised low-tech bomb strapped on.

We’re told he made the device himself and was inspired by ISIS to carry out the attempted terror attack.

Five people suffered minor injuries and no one was killed.

Ullah is in the hospital, being treated for lacerations and burns to his hands and stomach.

Members of New York’s Bangladeshi community are denouncing his actions, saying this behavior does not represent them.

Ullah came to the United States on a visa 7 years ago.

Investigators believe the suspect never had any direct contact with ISIS and acted alone.
