Time Magazine Names ‘The Silence Breakers’ As 2017 Person of the Year
Time Magazine named the “The Silence Breakers” it’s 2017 Person of the Year for launching the #MeToo movement.
The campaign is aimed at raising awareness about sexual harassment and assault.
Time says the #MeToo movement was the fastest moving social change the magazine had seen in decades.
They referred to the hundreds of women and some men who came forward with their allegations of sexual misconduct as “The Silence Breakers.”
The hashtag went viral, trending on different social media platforms and drawing input from actresses, entertainers and politicians.
