Lawmakers Call On Rep. Conyers To Step Down Amid Sexual Misconduct Allegations

Lawmakers are calling on Michigan Representative John Conyers to step down in the midst of sexual misconduct allegations.

Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi says Conyers should resign immediately.

The controversy began when a former staffer came forward, offering disturbing details about a sexual harassment complaint she filed against the Democrat two years ago.

Conyers was hospitalized Thursday night for stress-related issues, according to his attorney.

Conyers’ attorney is also suggesting the Democrat is being treated unfairly because of his race.

He is responding to Pelosi, saying his client has no plans to step down.

Several other women have also come forward accusing Conyers.

He has denied all of the allegations.
