Munson Healthcare Completes Major Renovations Thanks to Generous Grant
Munson Healthcare celebrated the completion of major renovations to its heart and vascular clinic, as well as the opening of a new clinic in Grayling.
Munson’s Cardiac Clinic in Traverse City has nearly doubled in size, and the new clinic in Grayling expects to see 3,000 patients this year.
The projects were funded by a $3 million grant from the Maxon Foundation.
New to the clinic is state of the art 3D ultrasound technology, as well as additional patient exam spaces.
Munson says it’s a vital need in this area.
“We sometimes don’t think about it, but cardiology or diseases within cardiology are the number one killer for our patients here in Northern Michigan. So anything we can do to improve access to care, in all of our communities really helps improve the health of the communities we serve,” says Munson Healthcare president Ed Ness.
Munson estimates the gift from Maxon will have saved patients nearly 300,000 miles of driving.
