Manistee Prepares for Victorian Sleighbell Parade

This is the 29th year for the Victorian Sleighbell Parade and Old Christmas Weekend.

This year’s parade is set to be the biggest one yet.

Events start Thursday and run through Sunday.

They include a jingle bell 5-K, craft show, a festival of trees, Christmas arts and crafts and plenty of food.

There’s also a chance to check out all of the stores in downtown Manistee with the highlight of the weekend being the Sleighbell Parade.

“The highlight of the parade is the 30 foot Christmas tree that is pulled down River Street strayed up by a team of draft horses. We have the event and the parade to remember and honor the Victorian Era and the lumber baron era that happened in Manistee,” said event chair Rachel Brooks
