Gusty Winds Cause Wind Escort On Mackinac Bridge, Power Outages

Those strong, gusty winds are leaving dozens in the dark Tuesday morning.

More than 150 Consumers Energy customers are without power in Manistee and Benzie county.

DeTour Area Schools in Chippewa County will be on a three hour delay.

The Mackinac Bridge is also under a wind escort.

High profile vehicles, including Semi-trucks, motor homes and pickup trucks pulling campers or trailers must be escorted.

Personnel will be located at both sides of the bridge to give you instructions on how you should continue across.
