Cherry Capital Airport Welcomes Holiday Travelers

Decent weather means a nice travel day.

It’s the busiest travel day of the year and Cherry Capital Airport has seen lots of travelers.

The last flight out of TVC was at 5:55 p.m. Wednesday, but flights are still arriving throughout the evening.

Cherry Capital Airport has had 150 more passenger than on this day than last year, but the extra passengers are no surprise to TVC.

They have been seeing more all year.

Luckily, the weather has been decent and TVC hasn’t had any delays.

Travelers told us why they like traveling out of Traverse City.

“It is a lot easier and it’s a smaller feel. The actual distance that you have to go from where you get your tickets to boarding, you don’t have to walk around as much,” said traveler Cletus Procknow. “It was pretty much in and out, which is good for the traveler because that means they can get to their destination faster.”

Airlines across the country are seeing 28.5 million passengers over the 12 day holiday period.

The ones arriving and departing Traverse City are happy they’re not running into any issues.
