Michigan to Allow Some Medical Marijuana Shops to Stay Open

Some medical marijuana shops in Michigan will be able to stay open while they seek a state license required under a new regulatory system.

The state Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs had previously given dispensaries until Dec. 15 to shut down through the licensing process to avoid potentially not receiving one.

But it changed course on that policy Wednesday.

Now, license applicants can remain open if they’re operating in a municipality that has adopted an authorizing ordinance before Dec. 15.
