Ludington State Park Given Grant To Build Playground

Ludington State Park could be getting a new playground with help from two grants and a dedicated group of people.

But there’s one last hurdle.

Friends of Ludington State Park is being awarded to grants to build a playground at the Hamlin Lake beach picnic area.

The group was awarded a $9,000 grant from the community foundation for Mason County to buy equipment.

And nearly $63,000 with a grant from Game Time Inc.

The group has already raised $30,000 toward the project, but will need about $15,000 more by November 15 to match that grant and make the playground a reality.
