We’re celebrating a very special birthday today. The Mighty Mac is turning 60!
The Mackinac Bridge first opened on Nov. 1, 1957 and was the longest suspension bridge in the world when it was built.
Since then millions of people have crossed the bridge, including President George HW Bush during the 1992 bridge walk.
Today we’re wishing the Mighty Mac a very happy birthday while looking forward to another 60 years as one of our states most recognizable icons.
