4-Year-Old Girl Killed in Isabella County Crash

A 4-year-old girl is dead following this crash in Isabella County.

Right now we know three different vehicles were involved.

The little girl’s mother was airlifted to the hospital.

The deadly crash happened at the intersection of Winn Road and M-20, otherwise known as Remus Road, west of Mount Pleasant.

Crews from Fremont Township Fire, Michigan State Police and the Isabella County Sheriff’s Office just finished cleaning up the scene.

The sheriff says it started when someone ran the stop light at the intersection.

Right now it’s not clear who ran the light, but the sheriff says a red Jeep rolled and the woman driving it was hurt, but not seriously.

A woman in a blue van was pinned inside her vehicle, and her four-year-old daughter was ejected.

The girl died at the scene.

Her mother was flown to the hospital in critical condition.

“It’s tough for everybody. We have a job to do, obviously, but it takes its toll. We’ve had State Police out here, we’ve had Mount Pleasant Police Department out here assisting,” said Isabella County Sheriff Michael Main. “You can see it on some of our first responders. They are certainly feeling it right now.”

Deputies say a man was driving east on M-20 and couldn’t avoid one of the vehicles.

He was not hurt.

Deputies are still investigating who drove through the light and are not releasing names yet.
