Mackinac Bridge Authority Issues High Wind Warning

A stretch of thunderstorms and strong winds is leaving more than 1,000 people without power Wednesday morning.

The majority of the power outages are in Mecosta County.

The strong winds also have the Mackinac Bridge Authority issuing a high wind warning Wednesday morning.

Pickup truck with campers or trailers, motorhomes and semi-truck trailers are all vulnerable to the high winds.

The bridge authority is asking drivers to reduce speeds to a max of 20 miles per hour turn on your emergency flashers and use the outside lane.
