What’s Growing With Tom: Week 15

Last week we talked about planting color for the fall and we planted a few nice mums.

This week we are looking farther into next year, spring to be exact.

Even though fall is approaching and it doesn’t feel like it, now is a good time to plant bulbs for early spring color.

Today we planted, tulips, daffodils and crocus.

It’s a very simple process: Dig a small hole between 4-6” deep, placing the bulb in it with the point sticking up, then cover up the hole and water it.

The time it takes to plant is small and the color you get is incredible.

Next week will be our last official garden segment for the season.  I’ll go over the how the plants did and what has made a comeback with this late summer heat!
