Veterans Prepare For Trip To D.C. Aboard Mid-Michigan Honor Flight
The Mid-Michigan Honor Flight aims to thank our country’s heroes by taking them to Washington, D.C. to tour the monuments built in their honor.
Our 9&10 News team is lucky enough to go on this journey with them.
In just a matter of hours, nearly 80 veterans will take off on this unforgettable trip.
Veterans and their guardians are getting breakfast before making their way to Traverse City’s Cherry Capitol Airport.
There are 44 World War II veterans, one of which is 99-years-old, 12 Korean War veterans and eight Vietnam War veterans going on the flight.
Each one has a guardian and among those guardians, there are an additional 14 veterans from various wars.
The group will experience everything from the World War II memorial to the changing of the guard at Arlington National Cemetery.
It will be a truly unbelievable experience for these heroes.
