Detroit Tigers Trade Verlander To Houston Astros
For more than a decade he was the ace of the staff and arguably the face of the franchise.
But late Thursday night the Detroit Tigers traded six time all-star Justin Verlander to the Houston Astros.
The deal reportedly went down minutes before the midnight deadline.
Verlander won 183 games in a tiger’s uniform and won a Cy Young and MVP in 2011.
He helped the tigers to World Series appearances in 2006 and 2012.
He also tossed a pair of no hitters.
In return, Detroit gets three of the Astros’ top prospects, including pitcher Franklin Perez.
