President Trump To Tour Storm Damaged Southeast Texas

Southeast Texas continues to face deadly flooding.

Tropical Storm Harvey continues to batter the area and the water won’t stop rising anytime soon.

Rivers in the Houston area aren’t expected to crest until later this week.

Federal officials believe the tropical storm will drive 30,000 people into shelters.

They expect 450,000 victims to seek disaster assistance.

Well over 20 inches of rain have fallen in Texas since Hurricane Harvey made landfall and there are no signs of the storm letting up.

Parts of the state could receive more than 4 feet of rain this week.

Thousands of people have been forced out of their homes by the floods and many more are still trapped, waiting for help.

Texas Governor Greg Abbott has deployed every member of the Texas National Guard to help with search and rescue efforts.

The president and First Lady are expected to arrive in Texas Tuesday afternoon, where they will tour storm damage and speak with emergency responders.
