Lake City Man Facing Charges for Driving Stolen Car

A Lake City man is in jail after police say he was caught with a stolen car.

Michigan State Police say an off-duty deputy noticed a man driving a stolen vehicle in the Meauwataka area Wednesday.

The deputy then called for assistance from on-duty officers.

A short time later, troopers arrived at the scene, where they spotted the man in the stolen vehicle.

They tried to pull the man over, but they say he got out of the vehicle and ran off.

Troopers used a K9 unit to track the man down in a nearby wooded area.

He’s now facing charges for possession of a stolen vehicle, resisting and obstructing a police officer and driving with a suspended license.

He also had a warrant for probation violation.

The man is now at the Wexford County Jail where he’s waiting to be arraigned.
