President Trump to Address Increasing U.S. Involvement in Afghanistan
President Trump plans to make an announcement on America’s "path forward" in Afghanistan.
The president is holding a special address at 9 p.m. on Monday.
He’s expected to announce an increase in American troops in Afghanistan, as well as U.S. involvement in the region.
President Trump met with Secretary of Defense James Mattis and other military leaders at Camp David last weekend, where the administration decided on how to move forward in Afghanistan.
Mattis says he’s confident with the new strategy after meeting with the president.
