Michigan State Police Focus On Targeting Distracted Drivers On Mackinac Bridge

Michigan State Police say they are focusing in on targeting distracted and careless drivers on the Mackinac Bridge.

Troopers say some are more worried about snapping pictures or taking video instead of controlling their cars on the bridge.

State police want to remind you that it’s illegal to operate vehicles in a careless or negligent way that could endanger any person or property.

This would include a driver taking pictures or video while crossing the bridge.

Michigan law prohibits a driver from reading, manually typing or sending a text message while driving.
