Evart Implements Community Art Project in Appreciation of the City’s K-9 Program

The city of Evart is showing support for the city police department’s K-9 program in a pretty unusual way.

You’ll find painted rocks outside the department in a small painted rock garden.

Initially, the police department had volunteers paint special K-9 themed rocks for the community to enjoy and take with them.

However, if you take a rock you have to replace it with one that you painted.

The department says the community has really embraced this unique project.

“The rock painting community of Evart is big, and it’s getting bigger all the time. You will find rocks anywhere you travel in our town. We just wanted to show our thanks to the people who have continued to support our K-9 program and we wanted to make it a community project,” Teresa Swift-Eckert, Evart Police Department administrative assistant said.

The special K-9 painted rocks are almost gone, but as long as you replace it with one of your own, you can take any rock in the garden with you.
