A downstate man is now charged for a hunting accident that killed a 13-year-old boy.
Roger Hoeker is charged with involuntary manslaughter.
Deputies say Hoeker is a hunter safety instructor and a mentor for a youth outreach program.
They say Hoeker, William Gort Jr. and another teenager were squirrel hunting in Oceana County in February.
Deputies say Hoeker hit Gort in the head when he fired a shot.
He died from his injuries.
