Cadillac City Council Approves Construction Bid for The Market at Cadillac Commons

Plans to start building the Market at the Cadillac Commons are finally a go.

Monday night, the city council voted on a bid for construction on the project.

They accepted a bid of $1.2 million by Cole Incorporated of Cadillac.

This money comes from crowdfunding and grants, along with some city funding.

The mayor says it’s a huge investment for the community’s future.

“I don’t want us to lose sight of the fact that all of this is happening because we have such an incredibly giving community. The decision we made last night is going to affect generations to come. We are really proud of the project,” Carla Filkins, mayor of Cadillac said.

Ground breaking for the Market at the Cadillac Commons is set for September 5.
