BALTIMORE (AP) — Jonathan Schoop, Chris Davis and Trey Mancini homered in succession during a four-run first inning that sent the Baltimore Orioles past the Detroit Tigers 12-3 Sunday. Nicholas Castellanos homered for the Tigers, who had to settle for a split of the four-game series after winning the first two. Detroit went 2 for 15 with runners in scoring position and stranded 12 in the finale.

WATKINS GLEN, N.Y. (AP) — At Watkins Glen International, Martin Truex Jr. won a fuel-mileage gamble, holding off Matt Kenseth on the final lap to win the NASCAR Cup race. Brad Keselowski had a big lead but was forced to pit with three laps to go. Rookie Daniel Suarez was third, followed by Denny Hamlin and Clint Bowyer.

WATKINS GLEN, N.Y. (AP) — Kyle Busch won the Xfinity race at Watkins Glen International, recovering from a spinout and a pit road penalty. Busch topped the Penske Racing duo of Joey Logano and Brad Keselowski and easily beat them on a restart with three laps to go for his 90th series win. Watkins Glen was one of only two tracks currently on the Xfinity series schedule at which Busch had not won. Pocono is the other.

EASTLAKE, Ohio (AP) — Danny Pinero homered and doubled, driving in four runs and scoring a pair as the West Michigan Whitecaps defeated the Lake County Captains 9-0 in the second game of a doubleheader on Sunday. Anthony Pereira homered and singled for West Michigan. The teams split the doubleheader after Lake County won the first game 4-0. With the win, West Michigan improved to 15-6 against Lake County this season.

DAYTON, Ohio (AP) — Rodrigo Orozco hit a two-run home run in the top of the 10th inning to lead the Lansing Lugnuts to a 5-3 win over the Dayton Dragons on Sunday. The home run by Orozco scored Nash Knight. With the win, Lansing improved to 8-3 against Dayton this season.
