It was big day and a big honor for two veterans in Roscommon County.
They were thanked for their service to the country with the medals they’ve earned.
Stephen Kanachki and Michael Wilson were presented with the military service medals by Congressman John Moolenaar.
Kanachki served in Korea as a specialist fixing the army’s vehicles.
Wilson was stationed in Antarctica with the U.S. Navy.
Both say the gesture meant the world.
"I feel it’s been appreciated and it really makes me fell grateful for something like this," Kanachki said.
"It’s a lot, it took them five years to get him back, so I’m thankful for the congressman," Wilson said.
Wilson received the National Defense Service Medal among others.
Kanachki earned the Korean Service Defense Medal and others as well.
