A Cheboygan County man’s awaiting charges after deputies say he led them on a chase through two counties and caused three crashes.
Deputies tried to stop a pickup on Wing Road near M-27 around 1:30 Monday afternoon.
The sheriff says the stop was the part of a major felony investigation.
The Cheboygan County man led them into Emmet County on Levering Road where he hit another vehicle.
That vehicle smashed into a deputy’s cruiser, disabling it.
The driver took off again, crashing into a ditch on US 31.
He was finally arrested after a short foot chase.
No one was hurt.
The driver’s name will be released when he’s officially charged.
