Jackson County Man Digs Up Pre-Historic Bones

A Jackson County man made a pre-historic discovery 10 years after building a pond.

Steve Dodge found dozens of bones after digging through the dirt for months.

He took the bones to experts at MSU and U of M, who told him they’re either mammoth or mastodon bones.

They’d need the animal’s vertebrae to figure that out.

Dodge believes the rest of the bones remain somewhere beneath the pond.

He hopes that, now that his story’s been brought to the surface, someone can step in and find the rest of the remains.

Dodge plans to move out of Jackson County soon, and hopes this giant discovery lives on.
