Wexford Co. Couple Heads to Jail For Forging Checks

A Wexford County couple will spend six months in jail and pay tens of thousands of dollars in fines after forging checks.

Those checks were filled out in the name of a man who died.

Wendy and Matthew Amidon were ordered to pay more than $180,000 in fines and restitution.

State police arrested the pair after they discovered they were forging checks in the name of David Northey of Harrieta.

In 2015, Northey was found dead in his home living in poor conditions.

The Amidons told investigators they were taking care of him.
