Snyder Asks Trump to Declare Major Disaster for Michigan Following Flooding

Governor Rick Snyder is asking the president’s for help following heavy flooding across mid-Michigan.

Friday, the governor requested that President Donald Trump declare a major disaster for the state.

This in response to flash flooding in Bay, Isabella, Gladwin and Midland counties last month.

Governor Snyder is asking for supplementary federal aid to help flood victims.

If it’s granted by the president, victims can get grants for temporary housing and home repairs.

A state of disaster has been declared in the four counties.
