Detroit Deputy Chief to Become Dallas Police Department’s First Female Police Chief

The Dallas Police Department has hired its first female police chief, and she’s from Detroit.

Ulysha Renee Hall takes over the Dallas department in September.

She’s currently the deputy chief of the Detroit Police Department.

This comes after Dallas lost several officers in a shooting last summer.

Hall says she looks forward to building on the successes of the past,

preserving the community and ensuring the safety of officers and the entire Dallas community.
