Costumed Pets March in Annual Alpenfest Pet Parade

Gaylord’s Alpenfest has fun for everyone, even those little four-legged friends we call family.

Pets from all around Northern Michigan gathered for this morning’s annual Alpenfest Pet Parade.

Dogs, guinnea pigs, and even a turtle came out in their best costumes and marched through the Alpenfest grounds, led by Rosco the Clown.

Alpenfest holds this parade and costume competition every year, and participants like Morgan Monchilov, who has been coming since she was five-years old, says it’s something to look forward to every year.

“Last year they were peacocks and two years before they were ladybugs. It’s really fun and the dogs love to do it to see all the people. It’s really, really good for them,” Morgan said.

Alpenfest continues with another parade downtown, Saturday.
