Malta Legalizes Same-Sex Marriage

Malta has legalized same-sex marriage after their parliament voted 66-to-1 in favor of the measure.

The law replaces the declaration, "you are now husband and wife" in civil ceremonies with "you are now spouses."

Citizens celebrated in front of the Auberge de Castille, which was lit up in rainbow colors.

The lone lawmaker who voted against legalizing same-sex marriage cited his Christian faith as the basis for his vote.
