Representative Bill Huizenga, Senator Debbie Stabenow Respond to American Healthcare Act

Following the Congressional Budget Office’s assessment of the revised American Healthcare Act, many lawmakers are responding.

Republican Congressman Bill Huizenga issued a statement saying the Congressional Budget Office’s projection confirms that the American Healthcare Act will lower premiums and reduce the federal deficit.

He says we need to restore the ability of hardworking Michiganders to choose the healthcare plan that best meets their needs.

And the AHCA is a positive step in that direction.

"The CBO projection confirms that the American Healthcare Act will lower premiums and reduce the federal deficit. We need to restore the ability for hardworking Michiganders to choose the health care plan that best meets their needs. The AHCA is a positive step in helping to achieve that objective."

But Michigan Democratic Senator Debbie Stabenow released a statement saying today’s CBO report confirms once again that Trumpcare is a bad deal for Michigan families.

She says she’s ready to work to lower costs and improve care for Michigan families.

Stabenow argues this plan makes people pay more for less.

“Today’s non-partisan report confirms once again that Trumpcare is a bad deal for Michigan families. I’m ready to work across the aisle to lower costs and improve care for Michigan families, but this plan makes people pay more for less,” Stabenow said.

Without any votes from Democrats, Republicans will have to draft a new plan that nearly every GOP senator will support.
