A Leelanau County woman is OK after hitting a deer, sending it crashing into her windshield.
It happened around 9:30 Tuesday morning on South Lake Leelanau Drive, just north of Bingham Road in Leelanau County.
The Leelanau County Sheriff’s Office says the woman was driving when a deer ran out into the road.
The van the woman was driving hit the deer, sending it airborne into the windshield. The sheriff’s office says the deer also hit the front rood edge of the van, keeping the deer outside of the van.
The driver suffered minor injuries and was treated at the scene.
