Gov. Snyder Signs Legislation To Clear More Human Trafficking Victim Records

On Tuesday Gov. Rick Snyder signed legislation that permits more victims of human trafficking to have their criminal records cleared.

The bill removes the restriction that previously stated victims were only eligible for deferral or dismissal of criminal charges if they had no prior convictions or prostitution-related charges.

Republican state Rep. Bronna Kahle of Adrian sponsored the bill and says that it will help victims to a better life.

Synder believes Michigan should do everything to assist human trafficking victims.
