Nurses Union Files Complaints Against Munson Medical Center

The Michigan Nurses Association has filed allegations of an unfair labor practice against Munson Medical Center in Traverse City.

Some nurses have been talking with the union about organizing for months.

Northern Michigan’s News Leader obtained a copy of a complaint filed with the National Labor Relations Board making the allegations against the hospital.

9&10’s Whitney Amann is live in Traverse City with what we’re learning Wednesday night.

The complaint filed on behalf of Munson nurses outlines several accusations against the hospital.

The union claims Munson interfered or restrained nurses from exercising their right to unionize.

They also claim the hospital changed work hours in retaliation for engaging in union activity.

The complaint filed with the NLRB also accuses Munson of interrogating an employee about their participation in union organizing activity.

We contacted Munson Healthcare for a comment on the nurses association’s allegations, and they say they can’t confirm it.

We will work to bring you their response as soon as we get one.
