The $4.8 million resurfacing project in Leelanau County is underway
This week the Michigan Department of Transportation started the project near Schomberg Road.
But the more than 12 mile project extends from M-204 south of Leland to M-22 at Thoreson Road north of Glen Arbor.
Not only are they resurfacing the road, but widening the paved portion of the shoulders.
As of right now the road is one way.
Construction is expected to be done by August 31.
