Man Charged With Having Homemade Bomb

We can now show you the man accused of having a homemade bomb in his house.

Troopers found the explosives in a house on Travelo Trail, near Houghton Lake, earlier this month.

Justin Bernard now faces weapons charges, including having dangerous weapons.

Investigators say they found illegal weapons and an unregistered, homemade handgun when they searched his house.

Troopers say a bomb squad team seized a live, improvised explosive device and a long gun as well.

They also found a woman carrying an illegal taser.

Troopers say Bernard made the explosive and had threatened to use it on buildings in the community.

Police say thanks to a tip, troopers were able to deactivate the explosive and no one was in any danger.
