Traverse City Students Hosting Bayside Bash To Benefit Inland Seas Program

Some Traverse City area high school students are hosting an event to raise money for a local nonprofit.

Traverse City West Senior High School Community Outreach students are hosting the Bayside Bash this Saturday.

There will be a carnival set up as well as live music and food trucks.

The event is entry by donation and all proceeds will go to benefit the Inland Seas Summer Education program.

Inland Seas will also be giving tours on two tall ships, with a demonstration of an underwater remotely operated vehicle or ROV.

“Inland Seas is an amazing program that has been around for so long and they’ve been doing so much good and we really just want to do whatever we can to help them out,” says student Grace Cain-Kellman.

“Their program is they’re bringing kids from downstate that don’t have as much exposure to the Great Lakes, and they’re bringing them here and they do bike tours, go sailing and just learn about how beautiful our area is and how it’s important to help the Great Lakes,” says student Sara Gustafson.

The event is taking place Saturday at Greilickville Harbor Park from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
