Traverse City Students Take Part In National Bike To School Day

Wednesday is National Bike to School Day!

Students all over Northern Michigan are participating Wednesday morning.

Norte! of Traverse City has bike trains organized so elementary and middle school students can ride safely together.

The trains meet in many different places and go to eight different schools.

Fourth grader Katie Clark says getting out and exercising before school can really help once in the classroom.

“It usually makes me more calm during the school day because I’m really active and I like to goof around but in school, I’m really calm and just do my work,” says Glenn Loomis Montessori students, Katie and Leah Clark. “We love love biking and it’s like one of our favorite sports and we just love having friends over and seeing friends, especially in the morning because you kind of get to like play with them and that makes me ready for the day ahead of me.”
