Missaukee County Fire Departments Receive Donation Of Entry Door Simulator

A donation to all of Missaukee County’s fire departments gave them a new way to train new fire fighters enter buildings — with force.

Viking Energy, a business in McBain, donated $3,000 worth of steel and labor to build this…a forcible entry door simulator.

The McBain fire chief says it recently came into use last weekend to teach around 20 academy trainees how to force their way into a burning home.

The chief says the heavy steel can also be moved around and will be beneficial.

"Now we can move it around from station to station in our county and allow everyone a chance to try and work on it, practice their skills so when we need the skills, they are already honed so we can do things very efficiently,” says Craig Fisher, McBain Fire Chief.

The simulator will be available for all seven county departments.
