If you ever wanted a piece of the Mackinac Bridge you can now purchase a piece of history; but there’s a catch.
Michigan residents can buy 60-year-old grated metal pieces of the original Mackinac Bridge.
The pieces are being sold through an online auction as the sections of the bridge get replaced.
At first workers took the old bridge pieces to the scrap yard, but people say they wanted a slice of Michigan history.
Prices range from $270 to $1,500.
The Mackinac Bridge Authority says right now there aren’t many pieces left, but more will become available as crews keep replacing the bridge.
If this sounds like something you’re interested in, buyer beware, the pieces are around 40 feet long and weigh several tons.
