March For Babies Traverse City Plans To Focus Event On Local Impact

Saturday close to 500 people from across the region will be in Traverse City to improve the health of babies locally and nationally.

Registration for the March of Dimes’ March for Babies event kicks off at 8 a.m at the Grand Traverse County Civic Center at 1213 West Civic Center Drive, Traverse City 49686.

They’ll have several activities for all ages.

Then at 9 a.m. there’s a four mile walk through downtown Traverse City.

The point is to raise money to help babies in the NICU have a fighting chance.

Their goal is $80,000.

And while March of Dimes is a national foundation this year March for Babies in Traverse City is putting a spotlight on local families.

Jessica Schlimme, development manager for March of Dimes Traverse City says, ”A memory garden to recognize our local angel babies and also an ambassador avenue which would be the last mile of the route featuring stories of local NICU babies that are now happy and healthy.”

You can still register Saturday morning or online.
