Flag Honoring Fallen Michigan State Police Trooper Returned
A flag honoring a Michigan State Police trooper killed in the line of duty has been returned.
Over the weekend someone stole the thin blue line flag flying at the memorial for Trooper Paul Butterfield in Free Soil Township.
Michigan State Police say the last time someone saw the flag was back on April 29.
Trooper Butterfield was shot and killed during a traffic stop back in 2013.
The thin blue line flag honors fallen officers while showing support for those who continue to serve.
State police are now trying to figure who took the flag and why.
