Leelanau County Sheriff’s Office Investigating Home Break-In

The Leelanau County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a home invasion that happened in Elmwood Township.

Deputies say it happened Sunday on South Briar Drive.

The homeowners left around 9:00am Sunday morning and came back two hours later.

Police say while the homeowners were gone someone broke a side window and made off with a significant amount of cash, broke into a safe and took other small items.

The investigation is ongoing.
