U.S. and Michigan flags are flying at half-staff Friday in honor of National Guardsman Brandon Cavanaugh.
Cavanaugh was a sergeant in the Michigan National Guard.
He died on April 13.
Cavanaugh served two tours in Iraq in 2006 and 2008.
A service will be held in his honor Saturday in Bay City.
Flags should be returned to full-staff on Saturday.
His daughter, Brandy, says she hopes people will be inspired by her father and everything he has done for the world.
